Just got off the plane and riding in a small cab for the first time. This tiny SUV (Ford hybrid) pulled up and I laughed saying our things would not fit in that small cab. The little Indian cab driver said in broken English that it would all fit. LOL!……it did fit to my surprise.
Sharon, sat up front with the driver and tried to communicate with him. Amber and Abbie were laughing listening to the driver talk on his cb to another driver and dodging cars and driving very fast. He would get angry if he had to take his foot off of the accelerator. He would start screaming in his foreign language. It was an experience for all of us. While all of this was happening, I was texting Jan and Ken to let them know that we had landed and that we were on our way to the hotel. Jan, informed me that while they were in their cab, she threw up all over herself. Then, they get to the hotel and they say their room will NOT be ready until after 5pm and they got there around 10:00ish. Thank heavens she was able to clean up in the hotel fitness center. I found out on this trip that Michael isn’t the only one in his family who gets car sick. It’s a REEVES thing. :)
GRAND CENTRAL STATION
Time Square……. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Purchased our Metro Pass (7 day unlimited pass- much cheaper) to ride the Subway. It took a bit figuring out which one we needed to get on. Ken and Jan had it figured out in no time.
These trains come flying in and take off like a rocket. You really have to pay attention and move quickly.
Tried our first black/white cookie in NYC!!!
Empire State Building
We went to the 86th floor . We rode on one elevator to the 80th fl then got on another one to go up another 6 floors. You could go higher for an extra $17. After hearing that I was good with 86floors :)
Can you see the Statue of Liberty in this above shot? They said on a clear day you could see into Connecticut, Massachusetts and further. It was windy and chilly the day we went, but it was clear.
As you can see, Abbie, wasn’t happy to be in a picture with me. She decided to hang with her aunt and uncle while on top. However, once outside it was very crowded and you had to fight for a spot to take a picture. I happened to find her and asked if she would take a picture with me and this is what I got. The joys of motherhood. ; )
