Yum!!
Abbie couldn't sleep the other night, so we started talking different things. I happened to tell her that one day this next week, we would make sugar cookies and she could help decorate them. I know.... I know... I don't need them around the house, but it's a tradition. I can remember coming home from school and mom would either have these cookies made for us to all enjoy or she would have the items ready to be decorated. I still can hear all of us begging mom to make them each year. Mom even sent them to me when I was on my mission. Thank you, mom! Well, last night Abbie and I got busy. We made and decorated a bunch of these cookies. She really got into making the faces on the ghosts and on the pumpkins. Believe it or not, Austin came in and got in on the fun. He tries to act like he is too big for activities like this, but I know that he secretly enjoys it. I even branched out and tried making "Glace'" icing. I liked the way the icing turned out. The icing hardens and the cookies are easier to package. Go HERE for the recipe. I will be trying the christmas cookies that the girls on "Best Bites Blog" made. Aren't they adorable?

What fun memories you are making with the kids. I know they will look back and smile the same way we do when we think of the pumpkin cookies mom used to make. You are an excellent mother. I think I've only make the cookies twice with my kids and both times my girls were super small. :) I love ya!
