Keeping the pace

Whew…..after picking the kids up from Hoopsters yesterday afternoon things got busy really fast.  We came home and I finished making the last of my turkey cookies (they turned out cute).  Austin and I were off to pack meeting.  They had it at the Bell’s place.  They had a bon fire going (which was nice because it was chilly).  They wanted the eleven year old scouts to be there to welcome the new boys who were getting their arrow of light.  They really went all out and it was a success.  I think Austin enjoyed it, which is saying a lot these days. 

I ended up leaving early so I could be on time for YM/YW.  The games went okay.  The youth were up for anything which is nice to hear as a leader.  We ended up having over thirty ym/yw there.  It was hard to keep everyone entertained and happy.  Somehow, we did it.    All the treats I brought got eaten.  I came with home with nothing.  SCORE!!! After YM/YW’s Austin wanted to go by the mall to get a few t-shirts.  There is one skateboard store that is the rage with his friends at school.    I reluctantly agreed only because I’m on his bad list these days.  I want him to be happy with life and me so I caved.  He got two shirts and we were on our way.  I couldn’t believe him on the way home.  He talked non stop. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!! He hasn’t spoken that much to me in months.  I loved it.  It was like having my big boy back again.  My heart has been hurting for a while by the way he has been acting towards me. Again, it was a really nice change.

Today has been another day of cleaning and getting things organized.  I’ve been working on YWIE that is coming up in December.  It will be here before I know it.  I’m trying to put together a video of the girls with a pretty song playing in the background.  Hopefully, I can figure it all out.  I want it to be a nice program for our girls.  They are the best YW around (honest!!).  Well, the kids should be home shortly.  I’ve got banana bread in the oven an its smelling sooooo good.
