Abbie, has shown interest in learning how to sew. She likes to do sewing projects with her Nana and Granny. She likes it when they make clothes for her American Girl doll’s. She sees other girls her age being creative and using a sewing machine to create unique outfits for their dolls. With her birthday coming up, Nana went ahead and got her a sewing machine. Thank you, Nana!! It made me a little scared because I knew that Abbie would want ME to work on projects with her. And I DON’T KNOW HOW TO SEW at all!!! My friend, Donella, had to come over and help me thread the bobbin and show me what I needed to do to get started. GEEZ, this is going to be tough on me!! Once shown, I think we are good to go (at least for the moment). I’m thinking her first project might be to sew a fun and funky pillowcase. Straight lines = possibility it might turn out, right? I’m trying to think positive about this. LOL!! I thought a pillowcase might come in handy when staying the night at a friend’s house. Hopefully, we can get started on that project sometime soon.

I'm so glad you have Donella there to help you. :) Abbie is going to LOVE learning to sew and I'm sure you will discover an appreciation for it as well. ;) There are plenty of really neat things to sew on different blogs. Time to get exploring. :)
I can see her learning to sew and enjoying every minute. I can also see you start to sew things as well. (Curtains, maybe?!?!)
