Where's my big boy??

Well, I took Charlotte's advice and while Austin and I were on the road all evening going from one activity to another, we had plenty of time to talk. He has been giving us fits lately. He gets so frustrated about everything and looses his temper so easily. Starts to cry and its usually over something so small. No one can do anything right these days. Michael and I are fed up with his behavior and he just needed to be given limits on his behavior. So, I started to explain to him about his hormones changing and his body trying to adjust and that could explain why he feels so frustrated about things. He looked at me and put his hand out for me to STOP talking immediately. He said, "Mom, I already know about all this stuff". I said, "You, do??" He then went on to explain that the other day he was at his friends house and his friend whispered to Austin that his sister "Got her PUBERTY last night". I was dying laughing inside. She is the same age as Austin. As I questioned him more, I could tell he still had no clue as to what happened to his friend's sister. Being the good mother I am, I started to explain about periods, breasts and such. All he could say was he was glad that he was a boy and didn't have to go through that. I sure hope that I can make it through the teenage years. It's tough on the kids but dang its hard on the parents too. I pray that I can find humor to keep me sane.

It's a hard time for both parents and teens, that's for sure! You will do great though. Just remember that he is an idiot right now. He will pass thru this and if you play your cards right, he will be a great young man. :) Let me know if you need to vent. :)
