Every year I think that next year’s start of the school year picture taking will be different. NOPE………not for me once again!! Austin, didn’t want any part to do with taking pictures especially early in the morning. I know he hates mornings, but I think to myself maybe he will give in and smile for me just once. He actually was nicer about it than Abbie. He got up and ate breakfast and headed out the door to catch the bus. Can you believe that he wanted to ride the school bus the first day of school? Abbie, on the other hand, wanted help lugging all her school supplies inside. She wanted me to drive her to school and pick her up to help decorate her locker. She has changed schools this year. She is now at the Intermediate NOT the Elementary anymore. They expect a lot from these kids. I hope that she learns a lot this year.
Abbie, was extremely upset this morning. She had a bra on that was bothering her. She begged me to let her change her shirt thinking that would help her cause. Being the mean mother that I am, I said “no” to the change and told her to get in the car. I finished gathering my things and got in the driver’s seat only to see her sitting there in a different color bra and NO SHIRT!!! She had pants on, but was just sitting there in her bra. I quickly told her that would not work and the car would not roll until she got that shirt back on. Needless to say, the ride to school was full of tears and no talking.
She changed her tune that afternoon when I showed up to help decorate her locker.
She and her friend, Payton, decided that they would decorate their locker’s. I was not for this idea at all. At this school, you can’t have locks on your locker’s. I just thought it would be a waist of time and money…….mostly money. Then, Abbie, came home and said that all her friends were decorating theirs and she would be left out. Michael, guilted me, so I went to the store an purchased the paper and we found the other items at Wal-Mart which were much much cheaper. Teachers and the principal were walking past us as we were trying to decorate the locker’s. I’m sure they thought that this mom {me} had lost her mind.
Overall, they had a good first day. When they are happy, everyone in the family is happy. Maybe this will be a good year for the Reeves family. We can only hope, right?

LOVED seeing the pics of the kids! It helps me know that I am not the only mother who screams more in the mornings than any other time of the day. What is the deal? It always drives me nuts for TAKS tests and such when the school send notes home saying to make sure the kids get off to school with a good attitude and nutritious meal. I always get a good laugh at those suggestions. haha Mornings are a beast no matter how smooth you try to make them! Hopefully the school year will be a good one for the kids AND you!!!
Love ya!!!
