Both wards (Whitehouse and Bullard) joined together for a big July 4th breakfast and parade. The kids made shirts and decorated their scooters, bikes, wagons, etc and walked in the parade around the parking lot of the church. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we honored our freedom at the same time.
This is the scooter that Abbie decorated. She found out late Friday night that other’s were decorating their bike’s and decided she wanted to as well. We made a special trip to town and bought a few things for her to decorate it. She has been all into duct tape so she knew that is how she wanted to decorate her scooter. She was so proud of it when she was done and was excited about getting to ride it in the parade. The morning of the parade a few girls were commenting about it and Abbie happened to walk up at the same time. I had been in the kitchen cutting up watermelons and Abbie comes in there crying. I finally got it out of her what had happened and she tells me that she is NOT participating in the parade. It just broke my heart to see her upset. I tried to plead and beg her to ride it in the parade. She is hard headed like her mother and did not participate and hasn’t been on her scooter since. =(
