I realized during this race that I love running!!!! Yes, it was very cold this particular morning (low 40’s) but it was so much fun!! I loved being there with friends and accomplishing something big. I doubted my own abilities. Michael and Ali, would just laugh and say that we were just going to have fun and boy did we ever!! Everyone that is a part of the running community is supportive of one another and encouraging. I think that has helped me to feel more confident. You see all kinds of runners (older, bigger, faster, fitter, slower, etc).We saw lots of people from a running club from Tyler. I don’t think I could ever run fast enough to be a part of that group. I’m too slow. But that is okay, maybe one day.
As I was running, it made me realize once again, that I have a wonderful husband who supports and encourages me to push myself. He, Abbie and three of Ali’s children would greet us every couple of miles. It made me smile every time I saw them because I knew they were rooting us on and proud of us. I told Michael that we are a team. He has to be with me at every race. I am the runner and he is my photographer. He has been at all three of my races now. I’m planning on running a 10k on March 24. I realized that by entering different races it keeps me in check and working hard toward goals. Now, each morning I’m trying to run 4miles. It has only taken me a few years but now it feels so good to be on this side.

I am so proud of you! I like to think in another world, I would be a runner too. :) When you run, I may not be there in body, but I am definitely there in spirit! You amaze me with your endurance and humility! YOU ROCK!!!
