Learning to Sew

 

Before Michael and I left for Dallas last weekend, mom came into town to watch the kids for us. Mom, Abbie and myself went shopping for our first sewing project.  We needed material to make a pillowcase.  One that Abbie could take with her when she spends the night with a friend. Her request was to have the material be really soft.  You know she is all about the feel of material. We found silk (the cheap kind) material in these colors.  I loved these colors and so did she.   Earlier, I had found a great tutorial online. It’s called “The Easy Tube Pillowcase”. It was very easy to do. You can find the link HERE . While we were gone, Mom and Abbie cut the material out and by the time I got home it was time to start sewing.  Abbie’s friend stopped by so she went off to play.  It looked so easy that I started pinning and before I knew it the pillow was done.  Yes, Abbie didn’t sew it but she helped.  It was actually my first project.  However, she has slept with it every night.  I think it turned out really cute!!
